Leach Lewis Plant Limited : Rubber Tracks

Rubber Track Recycling

Leach Lewis Recycling now have the solution to the problem of used rubber tracks – a dedicated recycling facility for rubber tracks, utilising only the power of water.

We have developed a unique single process system to recycle tracks. The tracks are fed into a processor, where they are blasted with 60,000 psi rotary water jets. These jets reach velocities approaching Mach 3 in order to break down the hard rubber compounds, and once the track has emerged from the processor, it is totally stripped of all the rubber.

The rubber product that remains is totally wire free, and has been ground down into 0.5mm rubber powder form, which can be used in a wide range of products ranging from grouts and adhesives to rubber modified asphalt and even as a wear-resistant dressing for heavily trafficked grass on golf courses and racecourses.

A key feature of our service is that customers will be able to verify that a full audit trail exists for their tracks, and that they are not only being fully recycled, but that it is being done using a zero emission process, without the use of any chemicals and with no fire risk.

We offer two different recycling options. For customers who have a larger quantity of tracks for recycling, we offer a price per ton of tracks.

Alternatively, we offer a bespoke service, priced individually by track size, with the tracks either delivered to our depot, or picked up by an outside carrier.
